To empower lifelong learners &
transform their learning experiences
In my early 20s, I began exploring learning design while I assisted team building retreats and traditional corporate trainings, and planned environmental education programs in a non-profit organization in Japan.
After immigrating to the US, I studied sustainable landscape design, which led to an award-winning school garden program. As I taught environmental literacy with project-based learning for PK-12 students, I collaborated on projects with diverse stakeholders, creating interdisciplinary partnerships and long-term impacts. On the side, I established a minority woman-owned small business and managed business essentials.
My experiences in education and a small business made me skilled in envisioning the big picture and coordinating the right piece in the right place at the right time. This skill comes in handy when the instructional design project requires me to simplify complex concepts into digestible step-by-step pieces. I empathize with learners and how they will be immersed in meaningful learning with effective use of tools and data while keeping instructional alignment intact.
With holistic systems thinking and sustainable leadership, I aim to empower lifelong learners and transform their learning experiences across generations.
